J.P. Morgan Chase
Cecil (He/Him) holds an MSc in Information Systems from Canterbury Christchurch University.
He was a lifelong banking technologist, joining J.P. Morgan to run a software engineering function within Cybersecurity in 2018. During the pandemic he pivoted his career to a full time focus on diversity, equity and inclusion across J.P. Morgan’s EMEA business, encompassing 37 countries, and over 30,000 employees. As such, he leads a strategy covering, Disability, Gender, Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, and Military Veterans in the region. Where his team have been successful in growing diverse representation, whilst also highlighting and celebrating the value of difference both inside and outside the firm. He prides himself on the contribution his team make to making the firm more inclusive.
Cecil currently serves as a non-executive director of J.P. Morgan Jersey Trust Company Limited; and is on the education advisory board of The Sutton Trust, a social mobility charity.
In 2024, Cecil was honoured to be recognized on the Diversity Powerlist (list of Top 50 Diversity professionals in the UK), as well as being recognized by the MIPAD (Most Influential People of African Descent) organization as one of their top 100 global Innovators and Changemakers for his work supporting diversifying the financial services industry. In 2023 he was awarded the title Head of Diversity of the Year at the Burberry British Diversity Awards. Whilst his team have been nominated for DEI Team of the year on numerous occasions
Cecil is on the judging panel for the Powerlist and the Black British Business Awards.
